Headlines | HIXON, VIVIAN W. Saturday, July 31 2010 | | Vivian W. Hixon NEW PORT RICHEY, FL AND FORMERLY OF LEIPSIC – Vivian W. Hixon, 95, of New Port Richey Fl., formerly of Leipsic, died 12:05 pm Friday, July 30, 2010 at her residence in Florida. She was born October 31, 1914 in Leipsic to the late Ernest and Velma (White) Kratzer. On August 29, 1936, she married John H. Hixon and he died May 18, 1989. Surviving are 2 children: Sharon (Leon) Nail of New Port Richey, Fl and Robert (Pam) Hixon of Leipsic; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother: Herbert Kratzer of Bowling Green and a sister: Virginia Sutter of Lima. Mrs. Hixon was a homemaker. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church and later the Gilboa United Methodist Church where she was an active member of the Women’s Society. She then became a member of New Life Family Church in New Port Rickey, Fl where she resided from June 2002 until her death. She will be greatly missed by many friends and family in Ohio as well as Florida. A Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am Thursday, August 4, 2010 at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic with Rev. William Patterson and Terry Ginther officiating. Burial will follow in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic. Headlines | SCHROEDER, JANET G. Thursday, July 29 2010 | | JANET G. SCHROEDER FT. JENNINGS – Janet G. Schroeder, 86, of Ft. Jennings died 8:25 a.m.Thursday, July 29, 2010 at The Meadows of Kalida. She was born February 3, 1924 in New Cleveland to the late Rudolph J. and Catherine (Inkrott) Scheckelhoff. On September 4, 1946 she married Thomas H. Schroeder who died June 29, 1995. Mrs. Schroeder is survived by her children: Larry (Jane) Schroeder of Ft. Jennings, Diana (Dan) Warnecke of Kalida, Bonnie (Jay) Richards of San Clemente, CA, Debra (Thomas) Kleman of Oak Harbor, and Shari (Shawn) Smith of Napoleon; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers: Roy (Erma) Scheckelhoff, Jim (Mary Lou) Scheckelhoff, Earl (Jeanie) Scheckelhoff, and Herb (Mary) Scheckelhoff all of Ottawa; and 2 sisters: Wilma Radabaugh and Marilyn (Delbert) Westrick both of Ottawa. She was preceded in death by a grandson: Neil Warnecke and a sister: Alice Herring. Mrs. Schroeder was a cook and teacher’s aide for Ft. Jennings Local School. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ft. Jennings and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She loved gardening and sewing and enjoyed spending time at their cottage at Coldwater Lake, MI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings with Fr. Joseph Przybysz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township, (corner of St Rts 224 & 634) where there will be a CLC service at 7 p.m. and a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Headlines | HEIDENESCHER, JACOB RYAN Thursday, July 29 2010 | | OTTOVILLE – Jacob Ryan Heidenescher earned his angel wings at 8:10 p.m. on July 26, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati. His parents are Eric and Tiffany A. (Baker) Heidenescher and they survive in Ottoville. Also surviving is a sister, Elyse Heidenescher and a brother, Alexander Heidenescher both at home; maternal grandfather, Gaylord Baker of Van Wert; paternal grandparents, Robert and Sally Heidenescher of Dupont; 3 great-grandmothers; 6 aunts and uncles; and 6 cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Kimberly Baker. A private, intimate graveside service will be held with Fr. Charles Obinwa officiating at Resurrection Cemetery, Delphos. Headlines | HARTLEY, FLORENCE (HAYZLETT) Tuesday, July 27 2010 | | LEIPSIC – Florence Hayzlett Hartley, 98, of Leipsic died 8:30 pm Monday, July 26, 2010 at The Meadows of Leipsic. She was born June 23, 1912 in Payne, Ohio to the late Hartford and Eva (Paul) Hayzlett. She married Dave Hartley in June 1942 and they were divorced. Survivors include two sisters: Helen Place of Oviedo, Florida and Ruth Schey of Leipsic; a sister-in-law: Shirley Hayzlett of Wapakoneta; two nieces; six nephews; and nine great-nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a brother: Paul Hayzlett; and two brothers-in-law: Don Place and Max Schey. Florence retired in 1980 as a Business Teacher at Leipsic High School for 35 years. She had worked at General Electric Co. in Ft. Wayne, Indiana for 9 years where she was a member of the Business and Professional Club. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Leipsic, the Lutheran Church Women and the Sigma Phi Delta Club. She was a 1930 graduate of Leipsic High School and graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in education and a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She was also a member of Leipsic Senior Citizens and Putnam County Retired Teachers Association. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am Thursday, July 29, 2010 at First Lutheran Church, Leipsic with Rev. George Zornow officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Headlines | NIESE, CHARLES H. Tuesday, July 27 2010 | | CHARLES H. NIESE LEIPSIC – Charles H. Niese, 86, of Leipsic, died 7:25 pm, Monday, July, 26, 2010 at Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa. He was born June 5, 1924 in Belmore, to the late Ferd and Margaret (Kaufman) Niese. On November 21, 1944, he married Ruth Leinsetter and she survives in Leipsic. Also surviving are his children: Gerald (Phyllis) Niese of Leipsic, Nancy (Jim) Niese of Miller City, Tom (Jane) Niese of Leipsic, and Carol (Mike) Nemire of Ottawa; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Donald (Frances) Niese of Ottawa and Henry (Helen) Niese of Lima; a sister, Rita Langhals of Kalida and a sister-in-law, Jean Niese of Leipsic. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbert Niese. Mr. Niese retired from Campbell’s Soup Company in Napoleon. He was also a self employed farmer and drainage contractor and owned Niese Ditching. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic, was a US Army WWII Veteran, a member of Leipsic VFW, Leipsic AmVets, Leipsic Eagles and the Ottawa American Legion. Mr. Niese enjoyed camping, wintering in Florida and riding on his golf cart. A mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 29, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. Robert DeSloover officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Leipsic VFW. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm, Wednesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER Funeral Home, Leipsic.
