NORTH CREEK – Alberta Ann Wenzinger, 100, of North Creek died 6:03 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Meadows of Kalida. She was born September 19, 1916 in Pleasant Township, Henry County to the late Louis W. and Helena E. (Swary) Gustwiller. On November 10, 1934, she married Paul J. Wenzinger, who preceded her in death on May 16, 1993.
She is survived by her children: Richard M. (Irene) Wenzinger of Continental, Diane (Gary) Maag of Kalida, Sharon (Don) Lammers of Miller City, Brenda (Clyde) Vennekotter of Continental, and Lynette Ordaz of North Creek; 25 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister: Anna Rose Reed of Fostoria.
Alberta is preceded in death by a daughter: Marlene McKibben; son-in-law: Ron McKibben; 2 grandchildren: Michael and Shelley McKibben; a great-grandson: Noah Siler; a grandson-in-law: Rob Kortokrax; 2 brothers: Lavon Gustwiller and Alloysius Gustwiller; and 5 sisters: Pauline Thomas, Martha Reineke, Ruth Steffel, Pearl Klingshirn and Antoinette Wolff.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria and formerly of St. Joseph Catholic Church, North Creek. She was a member of the C. L. of C., Sacred Heart and the Miller City Sportsman Club; She spent her life on the family farm, and enjoyed gardening, sewing, and feeding the birds. Alberta also enjoyed playing cards and bingo, polka dancing and craft sales and attending her grandchildren’s ball games.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Nick Cunningham and Father George Wenzinger co-celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, North Creek. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where a scripture service will be held at 1:30 p.m.
