KALIDA -- Alfred W. Landwehr, 74 of Kalida died 3:03 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2017 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born November 15, 1943 in Kalida to the late Charlie and Frances (Trenkamp) Landwehr. On October 26, 1968 he married Janet Buettner, who preceded him in death on February 26, 1998.
He is survived by 5 children: Peggy (Jeff) Averesch of Glandorf, Beth (Marty) Lause of Kalida, Becky (Mark) Ricker of Ottoville, Lisa (Jeff) Mueller of Fort Jennings, and Randy (Krisanne) Landwehr of Lima; 10 grandchildren: Dave and Megan Averesch, Andrew and Gina Lause, Nathan and Mackenzie Ricker, Jason, Jacob and Jared Mueller and Jarrett Knight; one great-grandson: Tanner Lause; 3 brothers: Joe Landwehr of Ottawa, Paul Landwehr of Defiance, Elmer (Jane) Landwehr of Kalida; and 3 sisters: Rita (John) Martin of Delphos, Irene (Bill) Warnecke and JoAnn (Herk) Menke, both of Fort Jennings; and a 3 sisters-in-law: Mary Jane Landwehr and Alice Landwehr, both of For t Jennings and Stella Buettner of Ottoville.
He is preceded in death 3 brothers: Charlie Landwehr, Jim Landwehr, and Eddie Landwehr; a sister: Mary Maag; a sister-in-law: Lillian Landwehr and a brother-in-law: Norman Buettner.
Alfred is a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida. He retired after 38 years from Phillips ECG, Ottawa. He enjoyed playing cards, and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds and Kalida Wildcats. Alfred loved to watch Gun Smoke, Andy Griffith and Bonanza.
Mass of Christian Burial will be will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida with Father Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township where a scripture service will be held at 1:30 p.m.
