Alice M. Unverferth

     KALIDA – Alice M. Unverferth, 93, of Kalida died 6:40 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Meadows of Kalida.  She was born October 10, 1922 in Ottawa to the late Henry and Laura (Zink) Conn. On May 12, 1945 she married Thomas Unverferth.  He died May 3, 1986.

     Alice is survived by her daughters:  Janet (David) Verhoff of Ft. Meyers, FL, Connie (Paul) Bendele of Licking, MO, Sandra (Jerry) Meyers of Leipsic and Ellen (Tim) Pohlman of Kalida; 8 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; 12 step great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson. She was also preceded in death by a son: Lawrence "Larry" Unverferth and her siblings: Marie Conn, Ellsworth Conn, Helen Kruse, Louise Nordhaus, Dorothy Neumeyer, Elsie Killen, and Art Conn

     She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida and its Rosary Altar Sodality.  She was also a member of the C. L. of C. and volunteered at the Meadows of Kalida.  She was a former 4-H advisor for the Kalida Sew & Sew and a former member of the Ohio Polka Boosters.

     Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida with Father Mark Hoying officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where a Rosary Altar Sodality Rosary Service will be held at 7p.m.
