Andrew A. Brickner

   OTTAWA - Andrew A. Brickner, 81, of Ottawa died at 11:25 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born February 13, 1935 in Ottoville to the late Andrew H. and Veronica (Liebrecht) Brickner. On January 24, 1959 he married his wife of 57 years, Patricia Louise Fenbert who survives in Ottawa.

    Also surviving are three children: Cheryl (Richard) Reyes of Allen, TX, Dean (Becky) Brickner of Ottawa, and Jacque (Mark) Niese of Shawnee; twelve grandchildren:  Shawn, Justin, Alex and Marcus Reyes; Andy, Eric, Nate and Luke Brickner; and Austin, Josh, Shayna and Dylan Niese; six great-grandchildren; two brothers: Art (Sharon) Brickner of Elida, Mert (Mary) Brickner of Kalida; and a sister: Mary (Don) Partin of Vaughnsville. He was also preceded in death by a sister: Alice Brickner and two brothers: Don Brickner and Frank (Woodie) Brickner.

    Andy was a retired technician with Philips Electronics. He was a member of the Army National Guard, Eagles, and the American Legion both of Ottawa. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa.  Andy was an avid Yankee fan.  He was also an original OG Titan Booster and enjoyed watching the Titans play. 

   Andy and Pat enjoyed 43 years of "Lake Life" on Hamilton Lake, Indiana.  He loved spending time with his family and many friends and making many wonderful memories with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Andy loved to play cards and was always looking for a "fourth". Andy never met a stranger.

   Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Father Rick Friebel officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
