Angela R. Schulte

  OTTAWA - Angela R. Schulte, 93, of Ottawa, died 5:10 p.m., Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Hilty Home in Pandora.  She was born April 13, 1924 in Gilboa to the late John and Martha (Kuhlman) Deters.  In November of 1946, she married Alton Westrick.  He died July 1, 1970.  She then married Wilfrid Schulte on June 23, 1978 and he survives in Ottawa.

  Other survivors include three children: Shirley (Dennis) Warniment, Bill (Sandy) Westrick and Patricia Chamberlin all of Ottawa; a daughter-in-law, Janice Westrick of Pandora; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; a step great-great-granddaughter; three sisters: Viola Maag of Leipsic, Rose Verhoff of Ottawa and Beverly Leis of Miller City; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Verhoff.

  She was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda (Larry) Johnston; a son, Martin Westrick; son-in-law: Russell Dean Chamberlin; a granddaughter, Leslie Johnston; three great-grandchildren: Griffin Warniment, Stella Warniment and Auggie Monnin; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold (Katherine) Deters; and a sister, Dolores Verhoff. 

  Angela was a homemaker and a store clerk at Siefker's formerly in Miller City.  She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and a charter member of the New Bavaria VFW Auxiliary.  Angela loved life and enjoyed her children and grandchildren especially holiday and family gatherings.  She loved cooking and baking and never left home without a plate of cookies to deliver to someone in need.  She enjoyed the outdoors whether it was working in the yard, helping with the farm, camping or going on hay rides at home or at Putnam Acres.

  A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bavaria.  Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.  A VFW Auxiliary service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

  Memorial donations may be given to Sts. Peter and Paul School or Church, St. Jude's Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice.
