Brent M. Rau

     LIMA -- Brent Michael Rau, 56 of Lima and formerly of Continental, passed away 8:50 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2017 at his parent's home with his loving family by his side.  Brent fought a short, but courageous fight battling lung cancer which had spread throughout his body. 

     Brent is survived by his partner in life:  Richard Dean of Lima; his parents: Ed and Mary Rau of Continental; 2 brothers:  Doug (Rhonda) Rau of Defiance and Matt (Melissa) Rau of Fort Jennings; a sister:  Linda (Don) Wannemacher of Ottoville; 3 nieces and 2 nephews.

     Brent formerly worked for Campbell Soup, Napoleon for 20 years, the former W. C. Woods Manufacturing, Ottawa for 10 years and most recently he worked for Denny's Used Cars, Lima. 

     He was a 1979 graduate of Continental High School where he participated in Band and Choir, was an avid reader, and enjoyed anything in the line of music.

     He was a kind and tender hearted soul, and had a very strong love of music, and a beautiful singing voice which had entertained many people in the area.

     Brent's funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Rev. Charles Schmunk officiating.  Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. and again Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
