Carl F. Corbitt

   Findlay – Carl F. Corbitt, 82, of Findlay formerly of Continental died 1:58 p.m. Monday, December 11, 2017 at Blanchard Valley Hospice Center, Findlay.  He was born May 31, 1935 in Continental to the late Tillman Ross and Nettie (Shafer) Corbitt.  On October 16, 1954 he married Elizabeth C. Bellmann who survives in Findlay.

   He is survived by a son: Jeffrey Corbitt of Findlay; two grandchildren: Jordan Corbitt of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Tyler (Stacy) Corbitt of Englewood, Ohio; a great-grandchild: Jayla Corbitt; and  two sisters: Marjorie Prater of Homer, Michigan and Edna Mae Sloane of Blue River, Kentucky. He was also preceded in death by a brother: John Corbitt and two brothers-in-law: Floyd Prater and Ed Sloane.

    Carl was the owner of Corbitt Construction, Findlay. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Findlay, the Ottawa Eagles and the Findlay Moose. Carl loved western square dancing, his backhoe, and his cats and dogs, but especially loved his grandchildren.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Continental with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in St. Isidore Cemetery, Cuba. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental where there will be a scripture service at 2:30 p.m. and one hour prior to the mass at church on Saturday.

   Memorials may be made to Bridge Hospice, Findlay or to the Humane Society of Findlay.
