Glandorf - Carl C. Hermiller, 79, of Glandorf died 2:33 a.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, surrounded by his family. He was born May 26, 1936 in Glandorf to the late John and Mary (Rosenbauer) Hermiller. On October 23, 1957, he married Bertha Fenbert who survives in Glandorf.
He is also survived by five children: Karen (Dennis) Stachowiak of Miller City, Alan (Becky) Hermiller, Pam (Larry Reinhart) Croy all of Ottawa, Earl Hermiller of Grover Hill and Janet (Neal) Kazee of Dayton; twelve grandchildren; Kay, Danielle, Jill, Nathan, Brandon, Chad, Ashley, Derek, Zachary, Heidi, Jenny and Theresa and ten great-grandchildren: Charli, Blaire, Jaijaye, Aubree, Brennan, Lennox, Taylor, Aiden, Marek and Margaret; four brothers: Lavern (Marg) Hermiller of Bluffton, Arthur (Ronnie) Hermiller of Ottoville, John (Mary Ann) Hermiller and Dennis Hermiller all of Glandorf; and four sisters: Florence (Thaddeus) Schroeder of Leipsic, Doris (Cleo) Liebrecht and Margaret Schimmoeller all of Glandorf and Donna (Adrian) Utrup of Ottawa; and two sisters-in-law: Louann Hermiller of Pandora and Ruth Hermiller of Kalida. He is also preceded in death by three brothers: Wilfred, Richard and Harold Hermiller, and four sisters: Delores (Arthur) Schimmoeller, Genevieve Rosengarten, Joyce Hermiller and Mary Ann Hermiller.
Carl retired from Ottawa Oil after 39 years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Glandorf's Holy Name Society. He was also a member of Glandorf Rod and Gun, Ottawa K of C, Miller City Sportsman Club and Ottawa Eagles. He loved to fish and play cards and especially loved spending time with his grandkids.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 15, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf, with Fr. Rick Friebel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa, where there will be a scripture service at 1:45 p.m.
