Charles J. Reed

   OTTAWA - Charles J. Reed, 55, of Ottawa died at 5:07 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born December 12, 1960 in Lima to the late William and Betty (Kuhlman) Reed, Jr.

   He is survived by two children: Kimberly (Zach) Burrington of South Bend, IN and Eric Reed of Ottawa; two brothers: Dean (Angie) Reed of Columbus Grove and Patrick Reed of Ottawa; a sister: Linda (John) Warnecke of Ottawa; four half brothers: Denny Hopkins,  Rodney (Janet) Hopkins both of Ottawa, Forest (Deb) Hopkins of Defiance, and Leon Hopkins of Ottawa; and his dog: Capone. He was especially loved by his and Margie's grandchildren. Charles was also preceded in death by two half brothers: Allan and Richard Hopkins and his fiancé: Margie Moreno.

   Charles was retired from the U.S. Post Office in Ottawa. He was a member of Sts. Peter  and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, the Ottawa Eagles, and the Ottawa Sons of the American Legion. Charles was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and Ohio State University. He enjoyed bowling and playing softball.

   A Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
