CONTINENTAL – Donald “Cedric” Williams, 83, of Continental, died 5:16 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at his residence. He was born November 18, 1933 in Continental, to the late Carl R. and Nora (Hampshire) Williams. On November 1, 1958, he married Mary Kathryn Breckler and she survives in Continental.
Also surviving are two children: Debra K. Warnimont of Continental and Wayne (Penny) Williams of Continental; two granddaughters: Amanda (Will) Frisch and Paige Warnimont; two great-grandsons: Brayden and Austin Frisch; four sisters: Deloris Wilson of Continental, Shirley Ernsberger of Waterville, Donna Lee Leatherman of Oakwood and Carolyn Lee of Spencerville; and two dogs: Brandy and Shep.
He was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Virginia Guild, Carl Williams, Mable Fields, Paul Williams, Mary Jean Divens, Wilma Williams and Richard Williams.
Don was born and lived his entire life on the family farm. He was a farmer, sheared sheep and bought wool. He was the pitching coach for the Continental girls’ fast pitch softball teams for many years as well as helped other area girls softball teams to be pitchers.
Funeral services will begin 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental with Pastor Charles Schmunk officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Continental. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
