OTTAWA - Edward A. Unterbrink, 79, of Ottawa died 6:55 a.m., Monday, October 24, 2016 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. He was born September 1, 1937 in Putnam County to the late Lambert and Mary (Nierman) Unterbrink Luttfring. His step father, William Luttfring, Sr. is also deceased.
Survivors include two daughters: Melissa Unterbrink and Gwen (Al) Luttfring both of Pandora; seven grandchildren: Kayla Gibson, Tyler Gibson, Taylor Kalb, Joey Luttfring, Becca Luttfring, Makenzie Luttfring and Addison Luttfring; two step grandchildren: Larissa Luttfring and Alex Luttfring; two step great-grandchildren; two brothers: Bernard (Alice) Unterbrink and Thomas (Angela) Unterbrink; two sisters: Rita (Clarence) Steffan and Helen Moening; two sisters-in-law: Marge Unterbrink and Wilma Unterbrink; a brother-in-law: Richard Brickner; and a step sister-in-law: Jeanne Luttfring.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Diane Unterbrink and second wife, Connie Seyer Ketzenbargar; two brothers: Robert Unterbrink and Donald Unterbrink; three sisters: Ruth (Howard) Grey, Marcella Brickner and Julie (Robert) Hohenbrink; a brother-in-law: Earl Moening; step brother: William Luttfring, Jr. and step sister Dorothy Riefski.
Ed retired from the former Philips of Ottawa in Maintenance. He had worked part-time for the Ottawa Police Department, was a volunteer fireman with the Ottawa Fire Department and a US Army Veteran during peacetime. Ed enjoyed a variety of sports, especially the Cleveland Indians, Browns and listening to the O-G Titans.
A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 31, 2016 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Fr. Rick Friebel officiating. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Ottawa with military rites by the Ottawa VFW, American Legion and AmVets. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Sunday and one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
