Howard E. Medley, Sr.

  LEIPSIC – Howard E. Medley, Sr. 81, of Leipsic died 3:15 a.m., Sunday, April 30, 2017 at The Meadows of Leipsic.  He was born January 22, 1936 in Leipsic, to the late Charles A. and Anna Mae (Miller) Medley.  On October 26, 1963, he married Mary L. Osenbaugh and she survives in Leipsic. 

  Also surviving are two children: Cheryl (Larry) Miller, Jr. of Lorain and Howard (Melinda) Medley, Jr. of Abilene, TX; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Barbara Cattell of Leipsic and Dorothy Cox of Ottawa; and a brother, Cleal Medley of Leipsic.

  He was also preceded in death by two daughters: Melissa Medley and Beth Fitzgerald; a granddaughter, Amanda Fitzgerald; four sisters: Esther Punches, Sara Mull, Ruth Kinder and Ethel Medley; and a brother, Charles Medley, Jr.

  Howard retired from General Motors.  He was a member of the Army National Guard for six years from 1957-1963.  He was also a member of the UAW Local 211 and West Leipsic United Methodist Church. 

  Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Tom McDonald officiating.  Burial will follow in Heath Colton Cemetery, Henry County with military rites by the Leipsic American Legion and VFW.  Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday May 8, 2017 and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
