Ottoville -- Jerome A. Friemoth, 90, of Ottoville died on Tuesday, October 6th, 2015. He was born January 9th, 1925 to the late Isidor and Ida (Brinkman) Friemoth. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Viola Horstman; they were married on September 27th, 1947.
Also surviving are his 5 children: Jeanne (Tom) Miller of Redondo Beach, CA; Dr. Jerry (Mary) Friemoth of Cincinnati; Diane (Dr. James) Gibfried of Springfield;, Thomas (Penny) Friemoth of Toledo; and Dale (Rachel) Friemoth of Loveland; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law: Louise (Robert "Cookie") Miller of Ottoville.
Jerome is preceded in death by his sister: Mary Catherine Kaverman; 2 great-grandchildren: Christian Buckley and August John Miller; 4 brothers-in-law: Paul Kaverman, Lawrence Eickholt, Edmund Horstman, and Elmer Horstman; and 4 sisters-in-law: Margaret Horstman, Fredonna Eickholt, Ruth Horstman, and Pat Horstman.
Jerome retired after 30 years of service at Ford Motor Company, Lima and was a member of the Ford Retirees. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of WWII. For 30 years he volunteered for the Ottoville Volunteer Fire Department. Jerome was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and was a member of its Holy Name Society and a former member of its Parish Council. He cherished his family so very much and loved the time he spent with them. Jerome enjoyed woodworking, traveling, gardening, reading and playing cards. He will be remembered by many for his handyman skills because he could fix anything!
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 10th, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Father Jerome Schetter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville, with military rites by the Ottoville VFW and the Fort Jennings American Legion. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 9th, 2015 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
