Kenneth H. Schulte

   Continental - Kenneth H. Schulte, 89, of Continental died 2:20 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2016 at his residence.  He was born January 4, 1927 in Putnam County to the late George and Mary Ann (Quinn) Schulte.  On June 21, 1950, he married Mildred Schroeder  who survives in Continental.

   Kenneth is also survived by two children: Maryanne (Tim) Bowerman of Gomer and Ed (Sharon) Schulte of Continental; 5 grandchildren: Christelle Bowerman of Gomer, Sam (Rachel) Bowerman of Burke, VA, Tom (Bruce) Bowerman-Jett of Bluffton, Rachel Bowerman of Gomer and Don Schulte; and  a sister, Alice Britsch of Continental.  He is also preceded in death by a brother: Elmer Schulte; three sisters: Virginia Potthoff, Mildred Hoersten and Agolda Coressel, a sister-in-law, Betty Schulte; and four brothers-in-law: Ed Potthoff, Clayton Britsch, Ike Hoersten and Maynard Coressel.

   Kenneth owned the Henry Implement Co. in Continental and operated the John Deere Dealership for 52 years. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Miller City, Knights of Columbus in Ottawa, Continental American Legion, New Bavaria VFW and Miller City Sportsman Club. He was an Army veteran of WWII.  He loved to hunt, fish and talk to people. He was very friendly with those who worked with him and for him, and also with their customers and families. He gave candy to the children and they got excited when they would see the green and yellow station wagon come in the driveway.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City with Fr. Stephen Schroeder officiating.  Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Continental with military rites by the Continental American Legion.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental where on Thursday at 6 p.m. there will be a scripture service.
