Louise C. (Scheele) Mansfield

March 20, 1921 ~ April 2, 2017 (age 96) 96 Years Old

Louise C. Mansfield

LEIPSIC - Louise C. Mansfield, 96, of Leipsic, died 7:30 a.m., Sunday, April 2, 2017 at her residence.  She was born March 20, 1921 in Deshler, to the late William and Emma (Brandt) Scheele.  On February 9, 1946, she married Robert L. Mansfield.  He died January 22, 1999.

Survivors include four children: Eugene W. Mansfield, Roger (Sandy) Mansfield both of Leipsic, James (Cheryl) Mansfield of Ottawa and Karen Rodriguez of Toledo;  nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Alex Rodriguez and a granddaughter, Shaina Mansfield; two sisters: Edna Seemann and Leona Scheele; and a brother, Paul Scheele.

Louise worked for Dekalb in Deshler at a young age before getting married and moving to Leipsic.  She enjoyed being a housewife as well as starting a new venture with her husband Robert, who became the house to house milkman with Meadow Gold Milk Company.  Louise loved to help others, so she started working a Libby's canning factory in the cafeteria.  She made lots of new friends and enjoyed that time very much.  One of the many highlights of her life was seeing an Elvis Presley concert in Detroit in 1977.  Her grandchildren were always treated to mini feasts of hot dogs, noodles, pizza, applesauce and Mountain Dew with frozen Reese's Cups for dessert.  Your pick from Viking Korner was always a very special option.  Spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren making memories was her very favorite thing to do.  She loved all of them and kept them close to her mind and heart.  Louise was a member of First Lutheran Church, Leipsic and the Leipsic American Legion Auxiliary.

Funeral service will begin 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Ken Pollitz officiating.  Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.  Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be given to Putnam County Hospice.
