LEIPSIC – Madeline L. Palmer, 82, of Leipsic, died 12:05 a.m., Monday, February 1, 2016 at Kingsbury Place, Defiance. She was born March 25, 1933 in Toledo, to the late Harry and Dorothy (Arnold) Berry. On June 10, 1949, she married Gerald J. Palmer. He died December 7, 2008.
Survivors include four daughters: Sandra (Greg) Schoonover of Elida, Kristine (Dennis) Cupp of Leipsic, Gloria (Kevin) Vance of Pandora and Jackie (Scott) Boroff of Defiance; eight grandchildren: Scott (Jenny) Hoverman, Shane (Chrissy) Hoverman, Adam (Kristin) Cupp, Eric (Diane) Cupp, Madison (Kurt) Warniment, Desiree (Brent) Staugler, Alyssa (Colin Shine) Vance and Candace Vance; six great-grandchildren: Raegan Cupp, Kenzington Cupp, Jadyn Cupp, Jackson Cupp, Graham Hoverman, Knox Warniment and Rhema Staugler.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Morris Berry.
Madeline worked in the cafeteria for Leipsic Public School for 19 years from 1977-1994. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church and First Christian Church both of Leipsic. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, Buttons and Bow Mother’s Club, loved gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will begin 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic with Pastor Tim Eding officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday. Memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
