Marjorie Ann (Hubbard) Saxton, 81, of Grover Hill,  passed away March 7,  2017 with her family by her side after a lengthy illness.  She was born in Grover Hill December 25, 1935, the daughter of Madge (Bair) and John Robert Hubbard.  On June 8, 1953 in Tokyo Japan, she married Vernon Saxton who preceded her in death on March 7, 1998.

Survivors include a brother, Donald (Myrna) Hubbard; four children: Anthony (Rebecca) Saxton of Defiance; Janna (Dennis) Thompson of Elida; Shelby (Kevin) Cluts of Bluffton and Marla Pancake of Defiance; nine grandchildren: Jennifer (Ronnie) Coleman; Tara (Andrew) Strauch; Aaron and Aric Thompson; Jordan, Ashton and Landon Cluts; Christian and Kenna Pancake; two great-grandchildren: Thaddeus and Marcus Strauch;  her best friend Shelby Jean Noffsinger, and many nieces and nephews.

Marjorie graduated from Grover Hill High School in 1953 as Salutatorian.  Following her graduation and their wedding, she and Vernon spent the next year living on Misawa Air Base, Japan before transferring back stateside to Carswell Air Force Base, Fort Worth, Texas to finish his Air Force commitment.  They then settled back in Grover Hill to farm and raise their family. She worked both in and out of her home.  First, at Central Mutual Insurance Company and then at Zeller Corporation where she retired in 1997.  She then returned to work at the family business, TAS Aviation, at the Defiance County Airport.

She was always active in her church and community, and a lifelong lover of music.  As a member of Middle Creek United Methodist Church since 1950, she served at the organist and pianist for their worship and special events for nearly 55 years.  She provided the music for countless bible schools, weddings, funerals, community gatherings, graduations, civic theater rehearsals, and other celebrations, as well as coordinating and directing the church choir, community cantatas, and special holiday music programs. One of her greatest joys was passing on her music ability by teaching piano to others. Additionally, she also participated in church UMW, was an advisor for the Livewires 4-H club, volunteered for numerous Boy Scout events, and was a member of the Latta-Wa Ladies Homemaker Club, just to name a few.
