Mary Jane (Rybak) Weis

   OTTAWA -  Mary Jane Weis, 92, died at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at The Meadows of Ottawa. She was born in Poluchow, Wielki, Prezemysl, Western Ukraine on December 23, 1924 to Zachary and Eufemia "Fannie" (Kutna) Rybak. She moved to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada with her family in 1929, where she spent her school years.  On August 1, 1945 she married Robert F. Weis who was stationed in Alberta during WWII. Mary Jane moved with her new husband to Ottawa, OH after the war.

   Mary Jane was a housewife and after the death of her husband, Bob, in 1976, she became the Executive Director for the American Cancer Society for a number of years until she retired. She then moved to Ft. Myers, FL and worked at the Ft. Myers airport for several years.

   The family shared many happy years vacationing at the lake in Michigan with many dear friends. She loved playing bridge, poker, doing seek and find puzzles and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. In July of 2011, she returned to live in Ottawa for the remainder of her life to be closer to her family and friends.

   Mary Jane is survived by her daughters, Judy (Roger) Cantwell of Findlay, Pati (Bob) Patrick and Barb (Randy) Schroeder both of Ottawa; her grandchildren, Kelly (Hohenbrink) Rush, Jason (Megan) Maher, Nichol (Hohenbrink) (Brion) Bergen, Jodi (Maher) (Jacob) Huntoon, Jordan (Shanna) Schroeder, and Jacob (Allison) Schroeder; and her great-grandchildren, Jack, Emma, and Sebastion Maher, Claire, Hudson, and Simone Huntoon, Tessa and Grady Schroeder, and Katem and Quinn Schroeder.

   Mary Jane's mother, father, husband; brother and sister-in-law, John and Sophia Rybak; and her great-grandson, Oliver Schroeder all preceded her in death.

   Mary Jane was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. Memorials may be given to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for their music program, Putnam Co. Hospice or to the PKD Foundation.
