Ofelia R. Alvarez

   Ottawa - Ofelia R. Alvarez, 77 of Ottawa died 5:50 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Lima Memorial Hospital.  She was born October 12, 1938 in McAllen, Texas to the late Francisco and Angela (Valdez) Rodriguez.  On May 17, 1957, she married Alvino "Al" Alvarez who died March 12, 2009.

   Ofelia is survived by a son: Gilbert Alvarez of Ottawa; 5 grandchildren: Marrissa Gracia, Jeremiah Gracia, Sarena Alvarez, Jeffery Brown and Mauriana Gracia; and 6 great-grandchildren.   She is  also preceded in death by 2 daughters: Mary Jane Gracia and Patricia Alvarez;  2 brothers: Joel Rodriguez and Adam Alvarado; and 3 sisters: Marcy Orduno, Esther Amaya, and Antonia Cabrrera.

   Ofelia was a homemaker.  She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and a member of Sociedad Guadalupana of Decatur, Indiana.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, with Fr. Matt Jozefiak and Deacon Ben Valdez officiating.   Burial will be at a later date in the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.  Visitation will be  from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where at 7:00 p.m. there will be a rosary service.

   Memorials may be given to the charity of donor's choice.
