Paul Albert Westrick

   OTTAWA - Paul Albert Westrick, 86, of Ottawa died at 3:20 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017 at The Meadows of Leipsic. He was born July 17, 1930 in New Bavaria to the late Urban and Emma (Frey) Westrick. On May 8, 1954 he married Dolly Barlage who survives in Ottawa.

   Also surviving are three children, Dennis (Ann) Westrick of Pandora, Jerry (Connie) Westrick and Janet (Jeff) Niese both of Miller City; six grandchildren, Amy Westrick, Eric Westrick, Stacey (Michael Cellar) Westrick, Jenny (Kyle) Bernhard, Jordan (Tonya) Westrick, and Lauren (Ryan) Johnson; fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene Westrick of Defiance and Arthur (Georgiann) Westrick of New Bavaria; and five sisters, Edith Ott of Defiance, Irene (Richard) Wenzinger of Miller City, Danilda Lee of Bowling Green, Donna Mae (Thomas) Barlage of Miller City, and Caroline Schmitz of Glandorf. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Harold Westrick and two sisters, Evelyn Drummer and Mary Heyman.

   Paul was retired from General Motors, Defiance and was a US Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, the Ottawa Knights of Columbus, Ottawa Eagles, Miller City American Legion, and Defiance UAW.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Rick Friebel officiating. Burial will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Miller City with military rites by Miller City American Legion, Ottawa American Legion, VFW, and AM VETS. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a K of C rosary at 7:30 p.m. and a scripture service at 7:50 p.m. Memorials may be made to Putnam County Hospice or Sts. Peter and Paul School.
