Petra D. Diaz

   LEIPSIC - Petra D. Diaz, 88, of Leipsic died 3:45 p.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  She was born June 14, 1929 in Mexico to the late Tomas and Paula (Gonzales) Delgado.  On March 17, 1952, she married David C. Diaz who died August 20, 2004.

   Petra is survived by eight children: Raul (Mary) Diaz of Leipsic, Jose A. (Elizabeth) Diaz of McCamey, TX, George (Deb) Diaz of Odessa, TX, Carmen Diaz of Findlay, Arthur Diaz, Rosa Lehmann, Guadalupe Diaz, Abel (Amy) Diaz all of Leipsic; twenty grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; a brother, Roberto of Mexico; and a step daughter-in-law, Teresa Diaz of Del Rio, TX. 

  She was also preceded in death by a stepson, David Diaz; a brother, Paublo and three sisters: Guillermina, Josefina and Maria.

  Petra retired from Tem-Cole formerly in McClure.  She was a member of the Fountain of Life Church in Leipsic.  She loved her flowers and her family, especially making tortillas with the grandchildren.  

  A Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Jose Zamora officiating.  Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.  Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. 

  Memorial donations may be made to the Fountain of Life Church.
