Lauer Family - Sending my sympathy and prayers for the passing of your dad. Your dad was a fantastic man and growing up with all of you, your dad had a big impact on me. I think we drove him crazy at times but he always welcomed me in the house with all of the other neighbor kids!
Sending peace and love your way!

Karen, Dave, Kevin, Michelle and Jeff,

I'm so sorry for your loss. Uncle Dick was a great man. I admired him and always counted myself blessed when I was able to spend time with him. I will always remember him as the uncle who carried a deck of cards in his shirt pocket, ready for a game of cards with anyone who would play.

I remember the time that he and some of the other uncles and aunts visited us in Culpeper, VA right after we had moved in (we were literally still doing construction on the house). He asked my son, Daniel (who was 5 at the time) for a deck of cards and offered him all the change in his pocket if he could find Uncle Dick a deck of cards. Dan left for a few minutes and came back to hand him a deck of Old Maid cards. Uncle Dick held true to his promise, and Dan made out with a pocket full of change.

May great memories of your father comfort you at this time, and may the Lord heal your hearts and bring you peace!

Blessings and love,
Your cousin, Diane

Please be encouraged:

For I well know what I am thinking toward you, declares Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not of calamity, to give you a future and a hope.
