GROVER HILL – Rosie Ellen Deckard (Lamberson), 68, of Grover Hill passed away on February 2, 2016. Rose was born November 28, 1947 in Doniphan, MO, the daughter of Charles and Lila Zane and Cliffton Lamberson. On August 23, 1963, she married the love of her life, Donald, who survives in Grover Hill.
Don and Rose enjoyed 52 loving years together and had three children: Donald, Jr., Kimberly (Alvin) Simonin of Grover Hill, and Ron (Anna) Deckard of Pandora. Rose leaves three grandchildren: Casey Eblin and Brian Eblin both of Grover Hill and Lukis Deckard of Pandora. Also surviving are siblings: John (Rosie) Lamberson and Donald Wayne (Carol) Lamberson, all of Fort Smith, AR and JoAnn “Jodi” Snyder of Colorado City, CO as well as many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her parents; infant son: Donald Jr.; two brothers: Cliff and Larry; and a sister: Doris.
Rose, affectionately called “Momma Rose” by many, was well known for her generous heart, ready smile, Southern hospitality and her no nonsense approach to life. She loved to garden and read. She enjoyed cooking (it was fabulous!) and has fed many over the years. Rose loved to spend time with family and friends, sitting around her kitchen table sharing good food and good company were a common occurrence in the Deckard home. Strangers were welcomed and made comfortable by Rose within minutes of meeting her. If you had the pleasure of knowing Rose, you know you were loved.
Family will receive visitors at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township, Fort Jennings from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2016 and one hour prior to the service at being held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the funeral home.
