Ruby F. Dukes
LEIPSIC – Ruby F. Dukes, 90, of Leipsic died 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Meadows of Leipsic. She was born April 4, 1927 in Logan, West Virginia to the late Grant and Mae (Guillum) Nelson. She married Smith Hurley, Sr., who preceded her in death. She then married Edwin Dukes on January 30, 1969, and he preceded her in death in May 2003.
Ruby is survived by 6 children: Herbert (Martha) Hurley of Canton, Helen (Ken) Hall of Paulding, Smith (Judy) Hurley, Jr. of Defiance, Sheila (Al Rohda) Phillips of McClure, Larry (Kelly) Hurley of Ottawa and Brian (Dana) Dukes of Leipsic; 3 step-children: Bruce (Dianne) Dukes of Continental, Duane (Sandy) Dukes of Bryan and Joyce Krentz of California; 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a son: Jim Hurley; a brother: Herbert Nelson; a sister: Shirley Riebesehl; and a grandson.
Ruby was a member of Leipsic United Methodist Church and retired in 1990 from Campbell’s Soup, Napoleon.
There will be a memorial service for Ruby at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Laurie Beaty officiating. Burial will be in Harmon Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
