Sherrie S. Meeker

   OAKWOOD - Sherrie S. Meeker, 72, of Oakwood died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, IN. She was born August 9, 1944 in Luckey to the late Lloyd C. and Oneda O. (Wohltman) Spahn. On July 25, 1964 she married Jake Meeker who died October 14, 2011.

   She is survived by four children: Oneda Schmeltz, Troy (Liz) Meeker, and Brent Meeker all of Oakwood, and Melanie (Jason) Preston of Yelm, WA; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister: Melanie Rakes of Defiance; and four brothers: Tony Spahn of Venice, FL, Lloyd (Esther) Spahn of Luckey, Steve (Shelley) Spahn of Toledo, and Rudy Spahn of Baton Rouge, LA. She was also preceded in death by a sister: Bonnie Heidepriem.

   Sherrie was a homemaker. She attended Methodist churches. Sherrie enjoyed cooking and playing bingo, but especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

   A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood. Burial will be at a later date in Troy Township Cemetery in Luckey. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Paulding County Hospice.
