   Cloverdale - Virgil Lee Britsch, 88, of Cloverdale died 9:10 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2015 at his home on his farm, where he and his wife lived for 56 years.  He entered this life on April 20, 1927 in Cloverdale to the late Earl and Lina (Hamilton) Britsch.  On March 2, 1951, he married Arletta Jean Merriman who survives in Cloverdale.

   Virgil is also survived by his children and grandchildren:  Robert L. "Bob" (Sherri) Britsch of Continental, their children: Amie, Angel, Johnathon and Kelli; Susan (John) Zachrich of Cloverdale, their children: Josh, Caleb and Levi; Jack Britsch (deceased), his son: Jason; Carolyn Johns of Ft. Jennings, her children: Christy, Melissa and Christopher Weber; and Julia Burgei of Cloverdale, her children: Nicholas and Emily Croy, and Faith and Chloe Burgei; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-grandchildren.   He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

   Virgil retired from Campbell Soup Company, where he worked for 26 years.  He was a member of the Auglaize Chapel Church of God, Oakwood.  He was the youngest of 9 children.  He loved to play music and sing at church and at nursing homes with his friend, Paul Wagner.

   A funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the AUGLAIZE CHAPEL CHURCH OF GOD, Oakwood with Rev. Stan Harmon officiating.  Burial will follow in Cascade Cemetery, Cloverdale.   Visitation will be Friday 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to service all at the church.

   Memorials may be given to the Putnam County Hospice.
