William L. Best

   Glandorf - William L. Best, 65, of Glandorf, died 7:55 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2016 at Lima Memorial Hospital.  He was born March 5, 1951 in Lima to the late Alfred "Dewy" and Lucille (Selhorst) Best. On June 15, 1973 he married Linda Schmitz who survives in Glandorf.

   Also surviving are three children: Shawn (Jackie) Best of Glandorf, Jared (Amanda) Best of  Washington, NJ, and Travis (Debbie) Best of Lima; eight grandchildren: Amanda Jacobs, Nick Jacobs, William Best, Emma Best, Mason Best, Anara Best, Abraham Best, Vincent Best; one great-grandson: Leland Chamberlin; two brothers: Ronald Best of Florida and Gordon Best of Vaughnsville; and a sister: Shirley (Jim) Meyer of Columbus Grove. He was also preceded in death by a brother: John Best; a sister: Betty Kleman; and a brother-in-law: Dick Kleman.

   William retired in 2014 from Ford Motor Company, Lima. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf, the Ottawa Eagles, and the Kalida Knights of Columbus.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Rick Friebel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a K of C Rosary at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
