JoAnn Elizabeth Otto
OTTAWA – JoAnn Elizabeth Otto, 86, of Ottawa died 11:38 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Meadows of Ottawa. She was born December 5, 1937 in Lima to the late Alfred “Peanuts” and Marcella (Hermiller) Ellerbrock. On October 19, 1957, she married Eugene Charles Otto, who survives in Ottawa.
Also surviving are 5 children: Jane (Brent) Kosch of Glandorf, Kay (Mark) Bidlack of Ottawa, MaryBeth (Mike) Schneeg of Glandorf, Kara (Brian) Balash and Kellie (Scott) Birkemeier, both of Glandorf; 21 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 on the way.
8 siblings: Marilyn Sealts of Fort Jennings, Donald (Janet) Ellerbrock of Columbus Grove, Thomas (Ruth) Ellerbrock of Columbus Grove, Janice (Sam) Golden of Lima, Dennis (Karen) Ellerbrock of Kalida, Gerald Ellerbrock of Kalida, Christine (Dennis) Horstman of Cloverdale, and Michael (Barb Niese) Ellerbrock of Kalida; 2 sisters in law: Marilyn Ellerbrock of Columbus Grove, and Marge Ellerbrock of Kalida.
She was preceded by 2 brothers: George Ellerbrock and Eugene Ellerbrock, her granddaughter: Lauren Mae Schneeg; and brother-in-law: Ted Sealts.
JoAnn lived her dream of staying home and raising her children. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and its Rosary Altar Society. JoAnn and her husband, Eugene enjoyed traveling very much and were proud to have visited all 50 states. They also traveled to several other countries around the world. JoAnn enjoyed yearly family vacations with her kids and grandkids. Through the years, every weekend was spent polka dancing and spending time with family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 2-4 & 6- 8 p.m. and Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. A scripture service will be held at 7:50 pm on Wednesday. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Ottawa. Memorial contributions may be given to Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
