William J. “Bill” Mack
KALIDA – William J. “Bill” Mack, 71, of Kalida, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at his residence. He was born October 5, 1952, in Lima to the late Jim and Mary (Hoehn) Mack.
Survivors include two daughters: Elizabeth (David Gerdeman) Mack and Sara (Josh) Strick, both of Ottawa; five grandchildren: Ada, Wyatt, Isaac, Grayson and Emmett; a brother, Ron (Patricia) Mack of The Villages, FL; and two sisters: Karen (Rodney) Wagner of Ft. Jennings and Marilyn (Mike) Birkemeier of Columbus Grove.
He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Theo Strick.
Bill graduated from Ft. Jennings High School in 1971 and The Ohio State University in 1976. He was the former manager for Speedway Gas Station, Ottawa and had also worked as a realtor. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida and former member of the United Way and Kalida Lions Club. Bill was an avid fan of his alumni, The Ohio State Buckeyes and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will begin 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Steve Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Ft. Jennings. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
