Barbara Jean Deken

   OTTAWA -- Barbara Jean Deken, 79, of Ottawa died 10:55 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Meadows of Ottawa surrounded by her loving family.  She was born May 2, 1938 in Birmingham, AL to the late Roy and Mary (Walters) Taylor.  On November 5, 1980 she married Robert L. Deken who preceded her in death on March 19, 2006.

   She is survived by 5 children:  John L. "Bruce" Hurst of Ottawa, Mary Bratton of Owensboro, KY, Jessica "Cissy" (Scott) Triplehorn of Pandora, Leslie (Tom) Schumacher of Columbus Grove and Steve Deken of Continental; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren with one on-the-way.

   Barbara retired from Phillips ECG, Ottawa and was a member of the Ottawa Missionary Church.  She loved babies, especially her grandchildren.  She enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach.

   The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Rev. Marshall Metzger officiating.  Burial following in Pomeroy Cemetery, Ottawa.  Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 8 and again Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
