Bruce A. Shartzer

   OTTAWA - Bruce A. Shartzer, 65,of Ottawa died at 9:01 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born June 28, 1951 in Lima to Raymond and Margaret (Ranes) Shartzer. His father is deceased, his mother survives in Ottawa. On March 14, 1970 he married Donna Jean Schnipke and she survives in Ottawa.

   Also surviving are two children, Bruce Alex (Trish) Shartzer of Canton, GA and Theresa (Dale) Kempf of Ottawa; three grandchildren, Aleasha Marie (Salvador) Delgado, Jr., Amanda Lynn Kempf, and Mykayla Lynn Ortega; two great-grandchildren, Salvador Julian Delgado III and Maximiliano Cruz Delgado; a half  brother, Steve McClure of Ottawa; and three half sisters, Shirley (Greg) Tyree of Walbridge, Pat (Bob) Butterfield of Cridersville, and Roseann (Ruben) Minjarez of Leipsic. He was also preceded in death by twin sons, Kenneth and Raymond Shartzer and a sister, June Jerwers.

   Bruce retired from Philips after 32 years. He was a member of the Amateur Radio Club and the Ottawa Area Radio Club with call letters N8PFM, and a life member of Leipsic Rod and Gun Club. Bruce enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, and shooting guns. He was a member of the NRA.

   Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Fr. Rick Friebel officiating. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Ottawa. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
