Daniel J. Thompson
OTTAWA - Daniel J. Thompson, 59, of Ottawa died at 2:11 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born August 7, 1958 in Toledo. His father, Harry Thompson is deceased and his mother, Mary (Nadler) Thompson survives in Ottawa. On September 16, 1978 he married Margaret Meyerhoffer who survives in Ottawa.
Also survived are two children, Ryan (Carrie) Thompson and Alyssa (Greg) Karhoff both of Ottawa; three grandchildren, Nolan and Quinn Thompson and Andrew Karhoff; a sister, Jane (John) Whitta of Fostoria; and many nieces and nephews.
Dan was Production Supervisor for Nelson Manufacturing of Ottawa. He was owner of Thompson Repair, specializing on shore station boat lifts.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, Leipsic Fishing and Hunting, and Ottawa Eagles. Dan enjoyed spending time in his shop working on his many projects. He loved spending time with family and friends at the lake, but especially loved his time with his children and grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak and Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Glandorf. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday and from 9 a.m. until the departure for mass on Tuesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a Scripture Service on Monday at 7:50 p.m.
