MILLER CITY – Donald C. Noirot, 89, of Miller City, died 8:48 a.m., Saturday, January 06, 2018 at The Meadows of Ottawa. He was born October 12, 1928 in Miller City to the late Jess and Ethel (Marchal) Noirot. On July 8, 1950, he married Mary Ellen Thompson and she survives in Ottawa.
Other survivors include four children: Bev Ward of Ottawa, Larry (Gerry) Noirot of Montpelier, Mark (Vicki) Noirot of Defiance and Judy (Tim) Schroeder of Leipsic; eleven grandchildren: Renee Wilson, Chad (Rachel) Ward, Hannah (Corey) Schankleton, Micah Noirot, Jason (Jessica) Noirot, Todd (Jackie) Noirot, Chelsie (Todd) Otto, Blake (Leanne) Schroeder, Dana (Tyler) Miller, Evan (Molly) Schroeder, Alivia (Nolan) Croy; twenty seven great-grandchildren: Brody & Avery Wilson; Lucas, Patrick & Jacob Ward; Moriah, Elijah, Emmah, Tabitha, Zellah & Michael Schankleton; Kobe, Kendal, Mason & Miley Noirot; Taylor Noirot; Lillian, Josephine, Coletta, Samuel, Adeline & Elijah Otto; Weston Schroeder; Kamryn, Sierra & Alyssa Miller; Mason Schroeder; four siblings: Dorothy Alt of St. Petersburg, FL, Louis (Sandy) Noirot of Miller City, Dr. Steven (Margie) Noirot of Wauseon; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Noirot of Miller City.
He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sarah Noirot; a brother, Jack Noirot and a brother-in-law, Bob Alt.
Don retired from the railroad. He began his career with Nickel Plate Railroad, then Norfolk & Southern. Don was the owner of Noirot Taxidermy from 1954-2015. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City and the Miller City Sportsman’s Club.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City with MSGR Charles E. Singler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., Tuesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where a scripture service will begin at 7:00 p.m.
