Donald W. Ostendorf
FORT JENNINGS - Donald W. Ostendorf, 85, of Fort Jennings passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family with tears of love at 4:02 a.m., Friday, March 23, 2018. He was born September 10, 1932 in Fort Jennings, to the late Lawrence and Verona (Meier) Ostendorf. On September 26, 1959, he married Agnes Anna Kemper and she survives in Fort Jennings.
Other survivors include four children: Douglas Ostendorf, Anna (Daniel) Nussbaum, Sandy (David) Klinger and Randy Ostendorf; five grandchildren: Kimberly Thomas, Morgan, Layken and Kassidy Klinger, and Tyler Ostendorf; two great-grandchildren: Kordane and Gabby Thomas.
He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Paul Fisher; and two sisters: Esther (Roger) Miller and Eileen Ostendorf.
Donald retired from Philips EKG of Ottawa after 34 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings, Kalida Knights of Columbus, Ottawa Eagles and the Farm Bureau of Putnam County. Donald was also a US Army Veteran.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings with Fr. Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Fort Jennings American Legion. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the mass Monday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Twp. K of C rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
