Donald S. Recker

   GLANDORF - Donald S. Recker, 84, of Glandorf died at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2017 at The Meadows of Ottawa. He was born to the late Louis and Anna (Schroeder) Recker. On April 13, 1955 he married Betty Niese who survives in Glandorf.

   Also surviving are seven children, Jerry (Sue) Recker, Sandy (Mike) Bellman, Ott (Beth) Recker, Roger (Beth) Recker, Wayne (Sara) Recker, Doug (Heather) Recker, and Beth (Scott) Coleson all of Glandorf; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Lou (John) Stechschulte of Ottawa, Patty (Glenn) Deters of Glandorf, and Joyce (Ken) Goecke of Spencerville; and a sister-in-law, Laura Recker of Ottawa.

   He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph, Joe, Eugene, and Bob Recker; four sisters, Ceil Inkrott, Mary Ranchel, Ann Brickweg, and Dorothy Hoehn; and a daughter-in-law, Laura Recker.

   Don was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of The Ottawa Eagles.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Putnam County Hospice or to St. John's Maintenance Fund.
