LEIPSIC - Edwin "Ed" D. Berger, 77, of Leipsic died 8:45 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2013 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
He was born July 20, 1935 in Putnam County to the late Edwin W. and Sylvia (Compton) Berger. On March 29, 1961, he married Frances "Fran" Levy who survives in Leipsic. Also surviving is a son: Eric D. (Dawn) Berger of Middlebury, IN; a daughter: Emily R. Berger of Findlay; four grandchildren: Annelise, Brennen, Hannah, and Landon Berger; a sister: Shelba Wilson of Leipsic; and a brother: David Berger of Katy, TX.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Jim Berger.
Ed was owner of Berger Barber Shop, Leipsic and also a beekeeper. He was an Army Veteran. He was a member of Faith Assembly of Believers in Ottawa, Northwest Ohio Beekeepers Association, Leipsic V.F.W., and life member of Leipsic Rod and Gun.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Larry Bibler officiating. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Leipsic with military rites by Leipsic V.F.W. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
