Eugene Aloysius Kaverman
OTTOVILLE - Eugene Aloysius Kaverman, 89 of Ottoville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. He was born November 1, 1928 to the late Aloysius and Laura (Laudick) Kaverman. He married the love of his life, Esther V. Bonifas, on September 25, 1953. Esther proceeded him in death on June 15, 1986. She was the daughter of the late William and Angela (Picker) Bonifas.
Gene’s family includes his children, Janice Kaverman, Angela Kaverman, Marie Kaverman, Jerry (Linda) Kaverman, Linda (Rod) Moser, Jim (Anita) Kaverman, Carol (Jerome) Bendele and Elizabeth (Ralph) Hunt, 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Marlene (Schlagbaum) Kaverman on March 25, 1984.
Other survivors include a brother Louis (Martha) Kaverman, three sisters Dorothy Heitz, Alene Klausing, and Janet Hiett, a sister-in-law Eileen Bonifas and brother-in-law Ed Utrup. Preceding him in death include Leonard and Betty Beckmann, Norman and Alice Knippen, Paul (Bounce) and Margaret Pohlman, Ruth Utrup, Robert Heitz, Richard Klausing, Thomas Heitt, Don Luersman, Rosella Bonifas and Melvin Bonifas.
Mr. Kaverman was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Ottoville, the Holy Name Society and the K of C Delphos. Gene had a great passion for life and thankful God made him a farmer. He loved the work and worked with great love. A devote catholic strong in his Faith, Family and Friends. He enjoyed playing cards and watching the Cleveland Indians and OSU Buckeyes. He always had a smile on his face and a dog by his side. He will be missed, gone from our lives but not from our hearts.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with the Very Reverend Jerome Schetter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township where there will be a Scripture Service at 2:45 p.m.
