Gary L. Slattman

   NORTH CREEK - Gary L. Slattman, 66, of North Creek died at 1:30 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 at Mercy Health St. Rita's, Lima. He was born October 27, 1951 in Lima to the late Augustus Henry and Lois Jean (Tracy) Slattman. On October 30, 1971 he married Judith Burgei who survives in North Creek.

   Also surviving are four children,  Michael (Char) Slattman of Wauseon, Amy (Jon) Thornton of Springboro, Angie McLaughlin of Continental, and Marcy (Troy) Diddle of Van Wert; two brothers, Richard (Brenda) Slattman and David V. (Joanna) Slattman both of Continental; two sisters, Pam (Jimmy) Sigler of Defiance and Sally (Mike) Guilford of Ottawa; and twelve grandchildren, Cameron Slattman, Lela Slattman, Alex Slattman, Taylor Rodriguez, Olivia Rodriguez, Amanda Thornton, Ashley Thornton, Richard Thornton, Melody Weaver, Courtney Weaver,  Victoria Weaver, and Teagon Thatcher. Gary was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Libby Slattman; a sister, Ida Mae Ankney, and a son-in-law, Todd McLaughlin.

   Gary was retired from Unverferth Manufacturing, Kalida, worked at Socar for 40 years, and was a farmer. He was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, North Creek and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Continental.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Continental with Fr. Rick Friebel and Deacon Joe Heeter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, North Creek. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental and one hour prior to the mass on Monday at the church.

   Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
