Gertrude R. Schroeder
LEIPSIC - Gertrude R. Schroeder, 91, of Leipsic died at 1:15 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2019 at The Meadows of Leipsic. She was born March 19, 1928 in Leipsic to the late Frederick and Lenore (Karcher) Moenter. On July 12, 1950 she married Cyril Schroeder who died February 4, 2011.
She was survived by 4 children, Deborah Ann (Tom) Stokes of Arvada, CO, Jerome (Chris) Schroeder of Leipsic, Nancy Rose (Ed) Mangas of Leipsic, and Anthony (Joan) Schroeder of Sidney; 13 grandchildren, Cara (Nick) Wolters, Wade Schroeder, Marla Schroeder, Trudy (Dan) Brahosky, Adam (Tenisha) Stokes, Meaghan (Scott) Peterson, Trevor (Jill) Schroeder, Brice (Candace) Schroeder, Emily Schroeder, Wesley (Traci) Schroeder, Ryan (Amy) Schroeder, Nicholas (Jodi) Schroeder, and Abby (Brian) Lauer; 26 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Walter (Marilyn), Jerome (Edna), and Joseph (Fannie)) Moenter and 3 sisters, Dolores Zimmerman, Joan (Charles) Kreamer, and Rita (Don) Patterson.
Gertrude was a Lab Technician for Libby's, formerly of Leipsic. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic where she was a member and past secretary of the Rosary Altar Society. She was also a member of the Golden Steppers Line Dancers and the Red Hat Society. Gertrude was a volunteer with the Red Cross Blood mobile and the election board. She was a former member of the Leipsic Eagles Auxiliary. Gertrude enjoyed dancing, playing cards, bowling, and playing shuffle board, and especially loved going to her grandchildren's sporting events.
A Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. William Pifher officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass on Saturday at the church. There will be a Parish Rosary at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
