GLENN A. BAKER
Haviland - Glenn A. Baker, 71, of Haviland, died 10:40 p.m., Saturday, August, 23, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born October 26, 1942 in Haviland to the late Elmer and Thelma (Rodman) Baker. On July 22, 1967, he married Joyce A. Strawser and she survives in Haviland.
Also surviving are 2 sons: Clay (Pamela) Strawser of Scott and Brian (Jodi) Baker of Van Wert; a daughter: Teri (Scott) Manson of Paulding, 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother: Elmer (Cheryl) Baker of Payne; 4 sisters: Erma Pratt of Haviland, Joann (Roger) Barker of Defiance, Carolyn (Jerry) Goins of Haviland and Toni (George) Searfoss of Haviland; and a sister-in-law: Lillian (Vic) English of Scott.
He was also preceded in death by a brother: John Baker; and 2 sisters: Rose Marie Maples and Nellie Hartman.
Glenn retired from Stone Co. Ready Mix in Van Wert. He was a member of Mandale Church of Christ and Christian Union, Mandale where he served as a Sunday school teacher and trustee. He loved to fish, do woodworking and participate in Fantasy sports. He had a great love for children and coached little league in Haviland. His greatest love in life was his family.
Funeral service will begin 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Mandale Church of Christ and Christian Union, Mandale with Pastor Justin Sterrett officiating. Burial will follow in Scott Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
