     GLANDORF – Hilda M. Hovest, 85, of Glandorf died peacefully surrounded by her family at 9:34 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. She was born May 16, 1926 in New Cleveland to the late Louis and Lauretta (Lammers) Winkler. On April 21, 1949, she married the love of her life, Robert Hovest who survives in Glandorf and they celebrated 63 years together this month.
     Also surviving are 6 children: Thomas Hovest of Glandorf, Norma (Mike) Rieman of Leipsic, Eileen (Mike) Wagner of Leipsic, Patricia (John) Inkrott of Glandorf, Michael Hovest of Glandorf and Dennis (Tina) Hovest of Glandorf; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Rose Schroeder of Leipsic, Sr. Arlene Winkler, O.S.F. of Springfield, IL and Alvera Alt of Leipsic; a sister-in-law: Reta Winkler of Leipsic and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Clayton and Delores Maag of Kalida.  She was preceded in death also by a great-granddaughter: Faith Rieman and a brother: Don Winkler.
     Hilda was the bookkeeper for Hovest Brothers Trucking and also a homemaker. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf where she was a Eucharist Minister for many years. She was a member of St. John The Baptist Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia.  She was an active supporter of Putnam County Right to Life and attended many national marches in Washington, DC.  She was Ottawa Knights of Columbus volunteer of the year; enjoyed polka dancing and was a member of the Ohio Polka Boosters and Precious Blood Companions.  Hilda was devoted to her faith, husband and family and always put them first in her life.
     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a parish, CLC and K of C Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
     Memorials may be made to Putnam County Right to Life or Holy Family Radio.
