  MILLER CITY – Jane M. Dobmeyer, 97, of Miller City died 6:44 a.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Meadows of Leipsic.  She was born April 8, 1920 in Ottawa to the late Ed and Agnes (Goeke) Zink.  On August 23, 1941, she married Harry Dobmeyer who died September 27, 1965.

   Jane is survived by three children: Tom (Katharine Marsh) Dobmeyer of Minneapolis, MN, Linda (Charlie) Scherger of Clinton, OH and David (Lara) Dobmeyer of St. Louis, MO; four grandchildren: Mike (Laurie) Scherger of Ft. Worth, Texas, Steven (Kristin) Scherger of Andover, MN, Calla Dobmeyer of Chicago, IL, Collin Dobmeyer of St. Louis, MO; three great-grandchildren: Sarah Scherger and Spencer Scherger both of Ft. Worth, TX and Noah Scherger of Andover, MN; a sister, Marilyn Doepker of Towanda, PA and many nieces and nephews.                 She is also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Anne Loraine Dobmeyer; a sister, Blanche Kaufman; and a brother, John Zink.

   Jane was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was a homemaker who enjoyed visiting with her friends and neighbors, playing euchre and staying in touch with family and friends via her iPad.  Jane was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Miller City.

  For 20 years, she was also a secretary to the principal at Miller City School.  Jane raised many animals on the farm, including cows, pigs, geese, guineas, sheep and peacocks.  She loved living on the farm and was proud of her independence.

  A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City with Msgr. Charles E. Singler officiating.   Burial will follow in the church cemetery.   Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where a eulogy will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by a scripture service.

   Memorials may be given to Putnam County Home Care and Hospice or the Putnam Co. Library.

   The family would like to thank the wonderful care provided by the Meadows of Ottawa, Leipsic, the Putnam County Home Care and Hospice; the Council on  Aging and many friends and neighbors.
