Janice “Jan” Marie (Dangler) Bibler
CONTINENTAL - Janice “Jan” Marie (Dangler) Bibler, 81, peacefully stepped through the elaborate and heavenly door at 1:43 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018 from her home in Continental, Ohio, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on Feb. 27, 1937 in Putnam County to Marvin and Elvera (Brinkman) Dangler. On April 14, 1956 she married Larry Raymond Bibler, they had been married for 62 years.
She graduated salutatorian and president of her class from Continental High School. She was a loving mother and grandmother, worked part-time for a short while at Kircher’s Flowers in Continental and volunteered at the Putnam County Community Thrift Store. She additionally helped with the Dangler and Bibler family farms. Alongside her husband, she helped establish Faith Assembly of Believers Church in Ottawa, Ohio, where she served on the board, taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school, and was an active member since its founding. Some of her passions and hobbies were reading, writing, sewing, gardening, cooking and canning, riding her bicycle, singing and enjoying music, studying the Scriptures, taking care of her grandchildren, and visiting with friends, family and neighbors.
She is survived by her husband; her three children: Bradley Bibler of Lima; Joanie Bibler of Defiance & fiancé Michael Tracy of Continental, Julie (Roosevelt) Echols of New Bremen; grandchildren Cara and Caitlin Echols; sisters: Margie (Marvin) Frankart, Joanie Howell, both of Continental, and Rhonda (Doug) Smalley of Paulding; brother-in-law Charles (Sharon) Bibler of Continental; and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who all loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; as well as her brother Gerald Dangler who passed on July 26, 2018.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2018 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental, with Pastor Ben Geiser officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Continental. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5 and 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6 at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made to Putnam County Homecare and Hospice or Gideon's International.
