John H. Fisher
FT. JENNINGS - John H. Fisher, 66, of Ft. Jennings died at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born April 25, 1952 in Lima to the late Paul and Theresa (Kiene) Fisher. On July 5, 1975 he married Carol J. Heitmeyer who survives in Ft. Jennings.
Also surviving are four children, Charlotte (Kenneth) Griffith of Ashville, Kevin (Sara) Fisher of Columbus Grove, Sherri "Gidget" (Ben Amstutz) Fisher of Celina, and Sara (Daniel) Troyer of Otterbein, IN; eleven grandchildren, Samuel Griffith, Katelyn Hanneman, Jason Hanneman, Austin Hanneman, Skyler Helms, Kylee Fisher, Theresa Fisher, Nathan Fisher, Jackson Fisher, A. J. (Aaron John) Troyer, and Owen Troyer; two great-grandchildren, Elijah Griffith and Eliana Griffith; two sisters, Dorothy (Tom) Mershman of Columbus Grove and Jane (Tom) Niedzwiecki of Beavercreek; and a brother, Philip (Alice) Fisher of Ft. Jennings. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Tom Fisher.
John was retired from Sarka Electric and was a lifelong farmer. He was named one of Ohio's Outstanding Young Farmers in 1987. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings and the Putnam County Dairy Association. John was president of Columbus Grove/Cairo Bass Club and was on the Ft. Jennings Telephone Association Board. John enjoyed fishing and hunting, and especially loved playing with his grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings with Fr. Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
