Joyce G. Klausing
Kalida - Joyce G. Klausing, 71, of Kalida died at 10:24 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2018 at her residence. She was born February 18, 1947 in Lima to the late Raymond and Louella (Dickman) Maenle. On August 13, 1966, she married Robert Klausing who survives in Ft. Jennings.
Joyce is survived by four children: Karen (Al) Martin of Columbus Grove, Jim (Anne) Klausing of Kalida, , Brian (Jen) Klausing of Kalida, Jen (Mike) Recker of Miller City; fourteen grandchildren: Kate Martin, Greg Martin, Tom Martin, Liz Martin, Austin Klausing, Sarah Klausing, Grace Klausing, Evan Klausing, Carson Klausing, Griffin Klausing, Hunter Klausing, Julia Recker, Ben Recker and Owen Recker; four brothers: Robert (Carole) Maenle of Elida, Dick (Shirley) Maenle of Ottawa; James (Cathy) Maenle of Kanasa City, MO. and Kenneth (Karen) Maenle of Ft. Jennings and two sisters: Alice (Dan) Swick of Ft. Jennings and Betty (Kenneth) Kleman of Glandorf. She is also preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Maenle and her sister-in-law, Janet Maenle.
Joyce was a graduate of Kalida High School, member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida and its Alter Rosary Society and CLC.
Joyce was the cook at Kalida Local Schools for 27 years, where she was known for extra helpings and cookies. She loved spending time with her grandkids and attending their events. She especially loved campfires, the annual Mother's Day kickball game, and family vacations. She was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds, garage sales and taking the grandkids to A&W.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida, with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township, where there will be a rosary alter and CLC service at 7:00 p.m..
Memorials may be given to Putnam County Hospice.
