Kenneth L. Warnimont, 78, of Leipsic, passed away at 7:02 a.m. on January 11, 2018 at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. He was born on April 17, 1939 in Leipsic, Ohio to the late Raymond and Eleanor (Selhorst) Warnimont.
Ken married Joyce Walker who became his loving wife of 56 years and she survives in Leipsic. Also surviving are two sons Greg (Sandy) Warnimont of Leipsic and Brian (Renee) Warnimont of Rockwood, Michigan; three daughters, Annette (Doug) Dewar of Bowling Green, Pam (Tony) Brown of Leipsic, and Cheri (Brett) Gibbs of Findlay; and eleven grandchildren, Matt (Sara Conkle), Todd (Amy), and Megan Warnimont, Cameron Dewar, Brooke and Alaina Brown, Cooper and Kylie Warnimont; two step-grandchildren, Blake and Graham Gibbs; three great-grandchildren, Colton Dewar, Lina and Hannah Warnimont; and three deceased grandchildren, Brett Warnimont, Haley Dewar and Alexandra Brown; and awaiting one grandchild and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers Roland and Donald Warnimont and one sister Marilyn Mentzer.
Ken was co-owner of the Leipsic IGA for 40 years and was a member of the Leipsic Eagles, Leipsic Amvets, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and a lifetime member of the Ottawa K of C. He was an avid golfer; his most memorable accomplishment was shooting a hole-in-one while in the same round scored a 72 at the age of 72. He loved traveling, bowling, playing cards, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Charles Singler officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be held on Sunday January 14, 2018 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME in Leipsic and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass on Monday at the Parish Life Center, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic. There will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
