Madonna M. Hitchcock
CONTINENTAL - Madonna M. Hitchcock, 98, of Continental died at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at The Meadows of Kalida. She was born on May 23, 1920 in Bryant, IN to the late Joseph M. and Clara (Weaver) Minch. On June 21, 1941, she married Charles Hitchcock who died April 1, 1978.
Survivors include two sons: Bob (Nita) Hitchcock of Lakeland, FL and Steve (Patty) Hitchcock of Continental; nine grandchildren: Julie Coate, Rob Hitchcock, Kelli Schwarzman, Jodi White, Stephanie Hitchcock, Chellene Warford, Amanda Pace, Jill Lloyd and Heather Hitchcock; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Larry Boesel of Sylvania; and two daughters-in-law: Susan Hitchcock of Bradenton, FL and Collene Hitchcock of Antwerp.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Boesel; two sons: John and Dick Hitchcock; and three siblings: Paul, Lucille, and Rosemary.
Madonna was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Continental and Continental American Legion Auxiliary. She was a 1938 graduate of Continental High School.
Funeral Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Continental with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Continental. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental, and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Hospice.
