Maria Luz Arreguin

   LEIPSIC – Maria Luz Arreguin, 95, of Leipsic was called to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 31, 2017 in Texas. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Maria Luz was born May 25, 1922 in Chamacuaro, Guanajuato Mexico to Felix Argueta and Maria  Louise Trujillo.  She met and married her husband Jose David Arreguin, Sr. on June 11, 1938. They enjoyed thirty-nine years of marriage before the death of her loving husband.

    She is survived by her eleven children, Aurora San Miguel, Jose R. (Angie) Arreguin, Rosendo Arreguin, Juan (Elizabeth) Arreguin, Lupe (Deena) Arreguin, David Jr. (Anabel) Arreguin, Janie (Robert) Ordaz, Raymond (Carol) Arreguin, Maria Antonia Noriega, Fidel (Angela) Arreguin, and Ruben (Valerie) Arreguin; a daughter-in-law, Lydia Arreguin; son-in-law, Catarino Valdez, Sr; more than 120 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; a sister Martha; and a brother Jose Argueta. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Robert (Jackie) Arreguin and Mike Arreguin and an infant, Fidel;  daughters, Beatriz Valdez and Amelia Shawber; and a son-in-law, Isaias San Miguel.

   Shortly after marrying her husband they moved to Texas and they migrated even further north to Ohio where she raised her family.  She enjoyed life to the fullest spending many hours knitting blankets, doilies, and many other items for all the grandchildren in her life. She took pride in cooking several Mexican dishes for her whole family, especially her famous tamales. Maria Luz will be sadly missed.

   She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic, the Guadalupe Society, and the Curcillo Movement. She was retired from Tem-Cole in McClure.

  A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. William Pifher officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and one hour prior to the mass on Saturday at the church Parish Center. There will be a rosary at 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
