Maria Martinez Garcia

   LEIPSIC – Maria Martinez Garcia, 82, of Leipsic, died at 5:40 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born May 23, 1935 in Brownsville, TX to the late Gregorio and Manuela (Ledesma) Martinez. On April 12, 1965 she married Francisco Garcia, Sr. and later divorced. He survives in Leipsic.

   Also surviving are three children, Francisco M. Garcia, Jr., Norma M. (Dan) DeLaRosa, and Carlos M. (Jill) Garcia all of Leipsic; six grandchildren, Adrian Elijah Garcia, Daniel Jacob DeLaRosa, Sonovia Eva DeLaRosa, Miranda Marie DeLaRosa, Allison Kay Garcia, Roman Xavier DeLaRosa; five brothers, Celso Martinez, Hernando Matinez, Federico Martinez, Marvin Martinez, and Marlin Martinez; and a sister, Eulalia Martinez. Maria was also preceded in death by four brothers, Lugardo Martinez, Gregorio Martinez, Jr., Lugardo Martinez, II, and Martin Martinez, and a nephew, Ernesto Luna.

   Maria was a homemaker and had worked at Campbell Canning Company for two years, 1965 – 1967. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 2, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. William Pifher officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and one hour prior to the mass on Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to Putnam County Hospice.
